The Life and Legacy of Darlene Johnson

December 19, 1946 - August 12, 2020

Darlene Johnson 12-19-1946 to 8-12-2020

A loving soul of hope, kindness and resiliance...

Darlene Johnson came from a family of military and Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) police officers, including her father and husband. Darlene, herself, was a force to be reckoned with, winning many prestigious awards and having many high-ranking government jobs including, but not limited to: Homeland Security and an esteemed undercover detective for the LAPD.

During her life, Darlene encountered many people who suffered, were ignored, didn't have a voice or any help, money or anyone to teach them the "right" to get ahead in life. With Darlene's deep love of children and people, she decided on a professional change and fell in love with her new career becoming a teacher!

Being a person of action, on top of her taking initiative to change the lives of so many, Darlene would give, teach and help children and adults that mainstream society seemed to have "forgotten." Throughout her life, she saw countless of these beautiful yet "Forgotten Faces," of all ages, races and from all backgrounds, and she wanted to Help Each and Every One of Them!

One of Darlene's final wishes she communicated to her friends and family was that her legacy live on, so The Darlene Johnson Foundation was established in 2020, keeping Darlene's promise and mission alive to give, help, and teach adopted, abused and disabled children and adults, along with wounded soldiers, police, firemen and their families, donating to organizations who also help each and every one of those precious Forgotten Faces that deserve love, help, and hope.

This heartfelt commemorative was written in Honor of the Late Darlene Johnson by TJ Myers who dearly loves and misses Darlene more than words can say...
